Delete your account or data

Delete your account in the app, or contact us without reinstalling it. You can also remove individual content without closing your account.

Request deletion without the app

Email support@rigeltec.com with the subject Delete Shared Lists account. Where possible, send it from your account email address. If you no longer have access to that address, or used guest mode, explain this so we can help verify the request. Never include a password or sign-in code.

We may ask you to verify account ownership and confirm what should happen to lists you own. Email requests are normally reviewed within 30 days; verification or unresolved ownership may require further communication. An email request does not instantly delete the account.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Shared Lists with the account you want to delete and connect to the internet.
  2. Open Settings, then Delete account.
  3. Review the lists you own. Transfer each list you want to preserve, or enable Permanently delete all lists I still own.
  4. For a registered account, confirm your identity with your existing Google sign-in or password when prompted.
  5. Choose Delete account and confirm the permanent action.

Once the request is accepted, your account access is removed and server cleanup continues even if you close the app. Cleanup may take time and retries automatically if interrupted.

Keep a shared list by transferring it

The new owner must already be a registered participant in that list. Send a transfer request and wait for them to accept. You remain the owner until acceptance and can cancel a pending request. Restore a list from Trash first if you want to transfer it.

You can finish account deletion without deleting owned lists only after all ownership transfers are accepted. Alternatively, permanently delete any lists you still own as part of account deletion.

Permanent deletion cannot be undone. Owned lists selected for deletion during account deletion are removed for everyone, including their items, list chat and item comments. This does not use the ordinary 30-day Trash recovery period.

What is removed, and what remains?

  • Removed: your sign-in account, profile, notification-token registrations, personal conversation read state and list memberships.
  • Your messages: list-chat messages and item comments authored by your account are deleted.
  • Lists you transfer: stay with their new owner. Content from other participants remains.
  • Items in lists owned by others: remain, with your author/completion attribution replaced by Deleted account and your assignments cleared. This does not remove personal information someone has typed into an item's text.
  • Security records: limited identifiers and deletion/block records remain to prevent old devices from recreating deleted data or bypassing access restrictions. There is currently no automatic expiry configured for those records. See data retention.

Deletion cannot remove copies other participants have independently saved, such as screenshots. Contact us about personal information in content that remains in another person's list.

Delete a list without deleting your account

On the main lists screen, select a list you own and choose Move to trash, or use the main menu's Delete lists action to select several lists. Confirm the action.

The list is hidden from participants and kept in Trash for 30 days. The owner can restore it during that period or permanently delete it sooner from Trash. After the period expires, automated cleanup removes it and its contents. If you are not the owner, Leave list removes your membership instead of deleting the shared list for everyone.

Delete items, comments or chat messages

  • Use an item's three-dot menu and choose Delete item. This is available to its creator or the list owner and also deletes the item's comments.
  • Use a comment or list-chat message's menu to delete it. The author or list owner can delete a message; authors can edit their own messages.
  • For data you cannot remove yourself, email a data deletion request and describe what you want removed.

Guest accounts

A guest account can use the in-app deletion flow while its original session is available. If you have lost that session and never linked it to Google or email sign-in, we may be unable to verify which account is yours. Contact us for help rather than sending passwords or private list invitations.
